Dummies of Jekyll & Hyde!

Earlier this week, something very exciting arrived at the Onça office: dummies and proof copies of our edition of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde!

There were multiple dummies of the slipcase, so that I could see, handle and select from a couple of paper options. There were also two dummies of the book—without any text printed on the pages—to show exactly how they will ship, shrink-wrapped and everything. Finally, a set of page proofs imitating what the printed pages will look like. All this so that I could review everything one last time and make any changes necessary.And I have to say, everything looks wonderful. The photos look nice, but don't do it justice—the sense of three-dimensionality is poorly reproduced, the tactile experience of holding the book is missing. There's just something special about the book sliding smoothly out of the slipcase, the soft texture of the black cloth, the comfortable way the book fits in your hands as you spread its pages wide. I can't wait for you to have this same feeling.With everything now approved, production will begin within a week, and the books are expected to be in the office sometime in June. Your copies will begin the last leg of their journeys to your hands shortly after that.I hope you're as excited as I am!
