Hollywood in the Klondike

I designed the cover and page layout for Hollywood in the Klondike: Dawson City’s Great Film Find by Michael Gates!

Although the cover is rather simple, the sepia photographs and gold-and-red text pair well to emphasize the historical and unusual nature of this find. The text layout uses a repeating film-strip motif that, at first, I worried would be too on-the-nose, but ultimately is very successful.

Typefaces: The title on the cover is in Shady Lady NF, the chapter titles and main body are in Adobe Caslon Pro, and the rest is in Synthese.
