Have You Eaten Yet?
I designed the page layout for Have You Eaten Yet?: Stories from Chinese Restaurants Around the World by Cheuk Kwan!
I had a lot of fun designing this book, especially because it covers Chinese restaurants not only in Canada, my current home, but also in Brazil, where I am from, and even the tiny island nation of Mauritius, where my wife’s family is from. In a weird way, I felt like it connected us more. The chapter illustrations are by Ricky Leung.
Typefaces: The main body text uses Maiola. The chapter headings use Inter ExtraBold, to match the front cover design my Michelle Kuan. Other elements such as the chapter number and locations use Macho.
