I designed the page layout of So You Girls Remember That: Memories of a Haida Elder by Gaadgas Nora Bellis with Jenny Nelson!

The big challenge of this book was how many different voices participate in the storytelling, and how to differentiate them. Since Bellis’s voice takes up most of the book, I set her voice in serif. Nelson’s comments are often extensive, so her voice is in roman sans serif, which everyone else’s blurbs are in italic sans serif.

Typefaces: The headings use Haboro Soft. The body text alternates between Source Serif Pro and Source Sans Pro.
